(de)colonial is a multimedia reflection on the coloniality of the museum as an institution. Through my original linocut, collage, and text, I explore the museum’s role as a contemporary cabinet of curiosity that employs systems of mapping, arranging, and labeling to divide the Western world from the “other”. Using metaphors of a caliper and drop spindle, I allude to the transformative potential of the museum through foundational change.
