The Workshop Zine for Workshopping Workshops

The Workshop Zine for Workshopping Workshops is an activity zine intended to either accompany future iterations of The Workshop Workshop for Workshopping Workshops (developed at the Digital Naturalisms Conference, 2025), or to be completed as a standalone activity. The intention is to serve as a pedagogical tool for developing pedagogical tools. Knowing how to do something is not the same as knowing how to teach someone how to do something. Building a workshop is in itself an art, and as such can be practiced and perfected. For the purposes of this we are defining a workshop as a small group, limited session educational experience. That is a loose descriptive definition, certainly not a prescriptive one. Generally speaking, workshops are about skill or knowledge transfer, and can be hands-on (making something) but are sometimes just mouths on (talkbacks, development sessions, collaborative experiences), or take another form entirely. The zine serves to move the reader from idea to practice.
